Direct Push

For superior soil sample recovery and speed Direct Push
drilling is the solution.

The Direct Push drilling, sampling, and monitoring system is designed to fully core-sample shallow holes up to 20 metres depth.

We have two rubber track-mounted Geoprobe drill rigs available for your drilling and sampling needs.

The Advantages of Direct Push Sampling and Drilling:

How does Direct Push Drilling Work?

The Direct Push Coring System works by the rig pushing and hammering into the ground the outer casingand th inner sample tube simultaneously. At the end of the Isometric Core run the inner tube is extracted and a new one installed. A new outer casing and inner rod are then added and the drilling resumes.

Wireline Core

For soil and rock cores in most geology types – this is the industries most common / standard practice drilling tool.

Brown Bros Drilling are one of the innovators of Wire-Line Coring in New Zealand. We have been successfully Wire-Line Coring for over 50 years and have accumulated a huge wealth of knowledge from all over New Zealand. From the Waihi Gold Fields to Northland Limestone’s, the Huntly Coal Fields to the Ohia Coal Fields, Brown Bros Drilling have Wire-Line Cored it.

Hollow Stem Auger

No drilling fluids or air circulation required for drilling, this provides many advantages over drilling systems that use water or air circulation. When the drill hole reaches target depth & for integrity of construction the outer hollow augers remain until monitor well or instrumentation is installed; then the outer hollow auger is with drawn.

Concentrix

Case as you drill – For drill holes in difficult gravel/boulder alluviums, the casing is advanced with the drill string, in addition providing continuous uncontaminated bagged samples, on reaching target depth and with the drill hole already cased to bottom, provides integrity installations of monitor well or bore hole instrumentation

With the Concentrix Overburden System, Brown Bros Drilling can obtain high quality Reverse Circulation type samples in difficult to drill mineral rich gravels, boulders and alluviums.

The system works similar to Reverse Circulation with the same benefits. Also you can drill through difficult through difficult geology, then switch to either Reverse Circulation or Wire-Line Core.

Solid Auger

For fast, inexpensive shallow soil sampling up to 6 metres depth. Samples are taken direct from the auger flight.

There are various diameters available, from 80mm to 900mm.
