Geotechnical drilling is a specialized sector that requires exacting standards to be met. Brown Bros (NZ) Ltd has the experience and the equipment to successfully complete demanding geotechnical drilling investigation projects. Brown Bros (NZ) Ltd has been market leaders in Geotechnical drilling since the 1940s.

Geotechnical drilling is often used to determine properties such as the bearing strengths in soils and the underlying geology. Information obtained from intensive sampling is used to calculate and design foundations and footings for large engineered structures such as bridges, wharves and multi-storey buildings.

Monitoring instrumentation

Machine-bored geotechnical holes are often installed with instruments to monitor localised areas for various stresses and strains, and/or water levels. Such instrumentation can include:
